I AM A SENIOR UX/UI WEB DESIGNER WITH OVER 20 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE.
I was classically trained in fine arts and earned my BFA from Bridgewater State University.
In my current position, I create workflows, wireframes, low- and high-fidelity comps (as static designs or working prototypes), and maintain platform style guides. Working closely with stakeholders, product managers, development and QA teams, I contribute directly to all phases of each project.
Over the years I have gained experience in many other vital components of the industry:
• Holding focus groups, gathering valuable user insight, and applying that feedback to better the experience
• Providing art direction, designing, and executing interactive experiences
• Training large teams of designers on custom video/mobile ads
• Working with the advertising world’s top agencies, concepting and designing for diverse national brands, as well as with in-house marketing campaigns
In short, I’m a problem solver who uses my years of design and software experience to create custom solutions to complex problems.

Image Annotation
UX/UI • RESEARCH AND DESIGNCollaboration is the essence of the Bamboo Rose Marketplace, whether it be within a team or across different organizations. There was a need to help convey product ideas without miscommunication. I designed the Image Annotation tool to allow for this colleague and retailer/supplier collaboration. Users now have the ability to mark up product images, which streamlines communication with clearly marked visuals, and allows for rapid product development.

My Community
UX/UI • RESEARCH AND DESIGNMembers of organizations within Bamboo Rose Marketplace wanted to browse and interact with other organizations in their "Trading" Communities. This project soon evolved into creating “My Community,” a whole new way of connecting and interacting with different organizations within a single section of the Marketplace.

Line Boards
UX/UI • RESEARCH AND DESIGNWhen franchisees, buyers, customers, and retailers are selecting products from Supplier Showrooms they need to be able to visualize the line they are buying for, reveal any overlaps, missing pieces, or incongruities in the line based on products that they have selected. We designed the ability to create line boards from the images associated with the products they have selected and added to their Shopping Trips.

Navigation Overhaul
UX/UI • RESEARCH AND DESIGNIn the Bamboo Rose Marketplace users collaborate with team members, as well as retail and supplier organizations, creating and sharing Inspirations, Wishlists, Showrooms, and Products. One problem with the current UI is the global navigation and page headers push the primary content lower in the screen out of focus. This was a personal project where I felt there was a problem that could benefit from a well thought out modern solution using a side navigation, which would bring the content of the page into view. Using Adobe XD, I redesigned the interface and created a clickable prototype.

Illustrator Plugin
UX/UI • RESEARCH AND DESIGNThe Adobe Illustrator Plug-in is for designers to create or edit sketches and Tech Packs in our Trade Engines PLM application while working within Adobe Illustrator (AI). The result is sharing of images and content between AI and Trade Engines. The previous version was dated and difficult to use. It didn't "feel" like it was part of AI, and was clearly designed by a team who had never used an Adobe product before. Working with users I was able to identify pain points and missing use cases to come up with an overall better solution.

V Platform
UX/UI • RESEARCH AND DESIGNOne of my projects was to build out a programmatic buying platform. The year-long process involved research, user testing, wireframing, creating interactive user flows, and hi-fidelity mocks. Throughout this process, the design of the platform has evolved through iterations based on feedback from stakeholders, users, product managers, the UX team, engineers, and the development team.

Web DesignStraight up web design is always a lot of fun, whether it’s re-skinning a template or designing from scratch. I always jump at the chance to brainstorm concepts, establish a new look and feel, and even write copy to accompany my designs.

Marketing
Concept • DesignWorking with the Marketing department at ScanScout, I had the opportunity to concept and design an ad that would run in Advertising Age. We set out to catch the attention of ad agencies, and the goal was to showcase our targeting technology. My approach was simple, I wanted to come up with something visually ridiculous, paired with clever copy, enticing the reader to stop and learn more about our company. ScanScout was acquired by our top competitor several months after my ad ran. Coincidence? Maybe…or maybe not.

Identity
Logo Design • PrintI don't often have the opportunity to design for print but when I do, I have a lot of fun with it. Logos represent the pinnacle of design in a number of ways. A logo needs to be simple, timeless, and clever. It’s easy to be complex, it’s tough to be simple. In a time of continuous innovation, it’s sometimes hard to gauge what is a trend, and what will never go out of style. And to be visually clever will set a brand apart from their competition, the ultimate goal of design.

Personas
UX/UI • Research and DesignI created series of personas representing each user type for our Ad Trafficking Platform. "A Day in the Life of Videohub" is used as a reference tool for the UX team, as well as a way to introduce new hires to each of the user roles. The final design and content had a 50s theme with a splash of sarcasm. All in good fun.

Interface Design
UX/UI PROCESS • DESIGNProcess is an integral part of UX/UI design. Without following a series of defined steps, aligning with multiple teams and hitting deadlines is near impossible. I was tasked with creating a graphic outlining our UX/UI process. Using the steps in my day-to-day work, I've designed a series of tools and widgets ranging from a Mobile Creative Studio to a Forecasting Tool.
